Climbing up one position to the No 2 spot in this year’s Clinica 100 is Medtronic. The company benefited from its $43bn merger with Covidien – the biggest M&A deal in medtech history – which closed at the end of January 2015. Medtronic’s fiscal 2015 ended April 24, 2015*, so the financial figures for that year included Covidien’s sales in the fourth quarter.
