US House and Senate negotiators reached a compromise agreement early Dec. 16 to place a two-year delay on the medical device tax as part of a tax-extenders bill, a move hailed by the device and medical imaging industry1. However, the House and Senate still have to vote on the bill, the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act of 2015, which also includes a permanent extension of the research and development tax credit2.
