Health Care Spending Boosted By ACA Coverage, Hep-C Drugs

The health care spending growth rate in the US leapt to 5.3% in 2014 – much higher than in the prior three years – led by coverage expansions under the Affordable Care Act and new drug treatments for hepatitis C, says an annual health expenditures report. Costs for durable medical equipment grew 3.2% in 2014 from prior-year levels.
